33.3 x 24.2 x 2 cm oil, leaves and sand on canvas The ocean can be seen from Shonan, Japan. I used Japanese leaves and sand from the lake Hanka in Spassk-Dal’nii, Russia. I wanted to express that hope will reach to people who are heartbroken at the tragedy in Ukaraine, from Shonan, the nearest ocean from my city.

Kunstkamera museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia has a photo of this place. I wanted to paint this place loved by people for a long time.

72.7 x 60.6 x 2 cm, oil on canvas I sometimes question the moon. Nobody answers. The moon never promises that the wish will come true. Even so, I will throw out a question. The full moon, you are beautiful and never promise. The bewitching moonlight may urge me to question the moon. A Japanese poet Miki Rafu wrote a similar poem to my feelings: “Why are they so white. Nobody answers in the moonlight” He wrote it about 100 years ago. I found the spirit has not changed.

All are born, live and die for others

All are born, live and die for others

Why are creatures born, live and die? A monk and author Jakucho Setouchi answered in her book. “You were born for other people.” All animals and plants would be born to be eaten by others in the end. When a planet dies, it breaks, and the broken pieces would be part of other planets. The earth could have the same theory of the life and death as the universe.
